Studies also show that youthful drinking is associated with increased likelihood of developing into abuse and dependency later on in life. Finally, studies show that teens who choose to become involved in alcohol usage tend to be involved in other risky behaviors such as early sexual activity and drugs. Answer: Thanks for your honest question. You should know that like yourself, many teens struggle with these same feelings of sadness, confusion about relationships, and lonliness. These feelings may be due, in part, to the whole process of puberty that is probably happening. Puberty, the process of changing from a child into an adult,can be a very difficult time, in that you may be experiencing an enormous amount of change all at once. These changes are both physical and emotional and can impact the way one feels about themeselves and others. My suggestion would be to try and be patient with yourself and your friends as you all move through this time together. You might also want to find a trusted adult with whom you can share. Sometime it's good to have a grown ups perspective because they've been through alot of what you may currently be experiencing.

I must say, though, it concerns me that you are seriously considering having sex with your boyfriend even though he doesn't know enough about you to know that you have not had sex before. I'm not sure if you are aware of the risks of sex outside of a faithful lifelong relationship, but I want you to know them so you can make educated decisions about your body. If your boyfriend has been involved in any sort of sexual activity before, having sex with him would put you at risk for getting a sexually transmitted disease. Some of these diseases are incurable and can cause a significant amount of damage or hardship. Most people with an STD don't have any symptoms, so you can't tell by looking at your boyfriend if he's infected. The only way to know for sure is to be tested. There's also the risk of unplanned pregnancy and the emotional impact sex can have on someone. If you don't end up with your boyfriend long-term, having sex with him can make the break-up even more painful. Take your time and get to know him better and allow him to get to know you. Make sure you always feel respected and secure in the relationship and that you're not feeling pressure to have sex. When I had sex for the first time, I was your age. I now regret it. I had sex because I wanted to make HIM happy and because I thought that sex would bring us closer together. It didn't, and we broke up.
